P3/2 Weekly Highlights 7.3.25
Hello pupils and grown-ups of P3/2,
Here are some of our learning highlights from this week:
- For outdoor learning, pupils had a go at the slackline in the woodlands.
- We have been looking at arrays in numeracy and time in Beyond Number. P2s made lovely posters to show their understanding of o’clock and half past. P3 have learned about quarter past and quarter to.
- We designed funny pancake faces for Shrove Tuesday and also started walking 1km a day for the Big Lent Walk.
- Whilst some pupils were away to the Church for Ash Wednesday, the rest of us joined with the other P3 class to look at different religious celebrations and events that take place this month. Pupils created posters to share their knowledge on Ash Wednesday, Ramadan and/or Holi.
- We redrafted our information reports on our topic ‘West Lothian’, focusing on editing our errors and following the structure.
- We also joined up with our P5 reading buddies and began planning a story that we are going to create together.
- We had a very enthusiastic pupil share his love for planes, telling us about different planes and their parts. We even got to try land his model planes on the runway as he measured the height in the air!
- This week, we practiced our common words with free-flow stations, like creating them with Play-Doh, making them up with scrabble letters, designing our own word searches to challenge our friends, and writing them in a sentence/story.
- Pupils had a great time exploring and collaborating in the infant area.
- Finally, we learned about International Women’s Day which is tomorrow. We looked at the history of why we celebrate this and made cards for an important woman in our lives to say thank you for how amazing they are!
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Mushet
