This week in P1

What a great week we have had in P1.

We have been learning the ‘ou’ and ‘oi’ sound. All our children worked really hard to sound out and write words with these sounds. We have also been working on skimming and scanning a piece of writing to find specific topic words.

This week we have been learning all about babies, what they need and how we can care for them. We wrote fantastic sentences about this working on adding a connecting word. We loved having one of our P1 friends baby siblings come in to visit us. We all thought he was super cute and confidently asked questions and shared facts we have been learning. We have also been learning about the human lifecycle and can explain how we change as we get older.

In math our focus this week was on data handling. We learned how to conduct a survey and how to use tally marks. We made a bar graph for our favourite mini beast and for colours of eyes.

Outdoor learning this week we used viewfinders to look at the different views bugs and other creatures see and then we drew fabulous pictures.
