P5B Week Beginning 27th January 2025

Hello families of P5B!  Here are our highlights this week as recorded by the Blue Table:

Nicolas and Sean both report at having enjoyed the mapping skills lesson, part 1, where they used tracing paper to draw the outline of Scotland and locate the names of cities using Google Maps, marking them on the map using a key.  Part 2 will involve using the map to learn about grid reference in maths.

Georgia and Flynn loved celebrating National Hot Chocolate Day on Friday with some lovely hot chocolate and marshmallows.  The staff also had a lovely hot chocolate in the staffroom thanks to the generous senior management team.

Amelia liked PE.

Haadiya said the learning highlight of the week was when she demonstrated to everyone on the Smartboard, the steps to finding the answer to a Times Table question (see photo).  She did this confidently.  Next week, we are going to explore another way to find the answer to a Times Table question called ‘The Grid Method’.

David’s highlight was singing hymns with Mrs Callaghan.

Ava and Addison loved another lesson with Mrs Callahan about our worries and drew their own worry pet.

The highlight of my week was watching the entertaining performances of ‘A Dug, A Dug’ , a well known Scottish poem by Billy Keys (see photos).  We have some expressive performers in P5B!

Congratulations to our Hot Chocolate award winner, Ava and our Reading Champion, Nathan.
