Primary 2/1 Learning Highlights 21st February 2025

It has been another busy week in P2/1!

This week for Health and Wellbeing, we have been focussing on Internet Safety. We read a story all about using devices safely and then used this knowledge to make a poster explaining how to stay safe online.

In Literacy, we have been reading short sentences. We did a Word Hunt in the area which was great fun and we managed to find all the words.

In Maths, we have been learning about odd and even numbers. Ask us how we know if the number is odd or even. We worked with a partner to sort different numbers on ten frames into odd and even. Some people found odd and even things in the classroom, even some of our snack was odd or even!

In RE, we read the Creation Story and talked about how God wants us to look after the world. During our assembly we learned all about the different activities we will be completing during Lent. We are very excited!

We are starting a new topic for this term all about Living Things. We had a discussion about what we know already and what we want to learn. We are all very keen to learn about different animals.

For Outdoor Learning, we practised ‘Sticky Boots’ where we need to get into a circle quickly with our feet ‘stuck’ to the people beside us. It was quite windy so we had to hold on to each other too.

We have had some new resources delivered to our area and we loved playing with them on Friday.

Here are some of our personal highlights this week:

Muhammad – I enjoyed playing with the paint.

Zenith – I enjoyed playing at the art table.

Danvith – I enjoyed playing in the area.

Izhaan – I enjoyed playing in the house corner.

Dawid – I enjoyed playing with the blocks.

Elsie – I enjoyed doing my writing.

Congratulations to Danvith who is our Hot Chocolate Winner for the week. He has worked very hard on all tasks this week. Well done to Freddie who is our Reading Champion for this fortnight. He has been showing great confidence when reading short sentences.
