P6B - WB 03.03.25

Dear Readers,

As always, we hope you have all had a great week!

The highlights of our week were:

  • The new spelling words and today’s spelling assessment! Let’s see how well we’ve done!
  • Our new maths sums in the morning to wake up our brains!
  • Ash Wednesday, at the beginning of the season of Lent, one of the two most important times of the year for Catholics around the world. As every year, we have learned that Lent is a very special time for reflection in our own lives and how to become better people of God. We are going to try Praying more, donating more and giving up on some things that we really enjoy during this time and will offer all our sacrifices for all our sins.
  • Mass on Ash Wednesday, when we received the ashes from Father Clement or Mrs McKissack to remind us that we should take this time to think about our life and the way we are living it.
  • Big Yellow Thursday was amazing! Everyone made an effort to bring something yellow and we learned that we were doing that to raise awareness of people who live with liver problems, and therefore look yellowish. As we found out that we have a little hero with this kind of problem in our Nursery, we asked and asked and we actually got him to visit us! His name is Wesley and he is simply Adorable! He was in our class talking to all of us, high fiving us and blowing us kisses! We loved him and have been keeping him in our daily prayers ever since we heard about him! ♥ We have also donated a huge amount of money for the charity that has been helping him and his family and felt very proud of ourselves for that!
  • We continued working with decimal numbers but will need to keep going with these since some people still find it a bit challenging.
  • Some of us have also done a super interesting reading comprehension on Fungi while others have done one on Biodiversity. Both seemed a bit tricky so we had to go over them again since this topic can be hard to understand.
  • Our Big Lenten Walk has been happening since Wednesday and will keep going until the Easter and, as always, we are being a tiny bit competitive about it!
  • Congratulations to our Hot Chocolate of the Week, Miss Paige, for always being there for all of us, willing to help with anything needed! Well done, Paige! ✨
  • Congratulations as well for the Superior Table, which has indeed been superior this time and has won the weekly prize! Well done to Shelby, Szymon, Maeve, Markuss, Jonah, Emily, Jude, Srihaun, Tweenie and Benita.✨

That’s all for today, we wish you all a fantastic weekend and say goodbye for now!

P6B and Mrs Valente
