Primary 2/1 Learning Highlights 28th March 2025
This week we have been learning the sounds ‘oi’ and ‘ou’. We completed a scavenger hunt to find the different words with oi and we were very good at sounding out the words. We also worked as a class to write an acrostic poem all about Spring.
In maths, we have been learning about block graphs. As a class we collected information about our favourite minibeast and then coloured in the block graph. The next day we collected information about our friends’ favourite fruit and used tally marks to show this. We then had to colour in the correct amount on the graph. We then answered questions about the graph.
For Health and Wellbeing, we have been learning all about how to take care of a baby. We sorted things a baby does and does not need and we also wrote a sentence about what a baby needs. We had a guess the baby quiz and it was very funny! We had a visit from one of our Mum’s who brought along her baby and talked to use about looking after a baby. We loved making him smile and when we sang to him he was laughing.
In Art, we made some special cards and crafts for Mother’s Day.
Some of our personal highlights this week are:
Harrison – I enjoyed making the cards.
Danvith – I enjoyed doing the plants.
Miles – I enjoyed learning the ‘oi’ sound.
Amariah – I enjoyed playing with the marble runs.
Freddie – I enjoyed seeing the baby.
Martha – I enjoyed writing about babies.
Well done to our Hot Chocolate winner, who helped keep his baby brother entertained when he visited our class.
