Primary 3 Learning Highlights 28th March

Happy Friday to all the P3 families! What a fun-filled two weeks we have had.

Over the last 2 weeks we have been learning lots of spelling sounds and patterns and been practicing all of our common words! We have been writing narrative writing stories and they have all been awesome! This week we planned our new stories which we all came up with ourselves, we will be writing these after the holidays! We had some great ideas and everyone was very creative.

We have had lots of fun with our numeracy, going outside and learning in the sun last week as well as playing multiplication board games and working in groups and independently doing sums.

Our topic ‘conservation of wildlife’ has been so much fun so far. We have been learning about different wildlife and their habitats, what it means if an animal is ‘endangered’ and which animals fall into the ‘endangered’ list. We have been thinking about the threats to wildlife and what we can do to help protect the wildlife in our local area. As a part of this, we decided to go litter picking around our school grounds to help create a clean and tidy environment for wildlife to live in. We took a lovely walk around the local area and even ventured down to the river to take a look and spot some wildlife, we seen beautiful flowers blooming and lots of creatures including bugs, birds, ducks bees and more! We have also spent some time crafting our own wildlife habitats and these were made out of anything we wanted! This included lego, cardboard, paper and craft materials and meant we had a large range of 2D and 3D creations!

In our RE we have been learning about lent and the story of Jesus on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We have been learning how to make the sign of the cross properly and what this means.

We had an awesome joke competition two weeks ago in our school and classroom. There were lots of funny jokes and myself and Mrs Garvin had a tough time choosing the winner! We ended up having 2 winners and one of them represented our class in front of the whole school! They did awesome and I thought our joke was definitely the funniest (although I may be biased)!

Well done to everyone last week who created an Easter bonnet and brought it in, we had lots of awesome bonnets in our classroom and everyone did an amazing job!

Well done to all of our winners over the last 2 weeks!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Miss Duddy.
