P1 Weekly Learning Highlights 30th May 2025

This week the Friendly Dragon left us the Story of Hansel and Gretel. The dragon asked us to design a healthy lunchbox for them as they had been eating too many sweets. We learned all about the different food groups and foods we should have a lot of, some and only a little of. We drew lots of lovely food in the lunchboxes for Hansel and Gretel and shared our lunchboxes with the class.

We completed a sequencing of the story of Hansel and Gretel.

On Thursday, the Dragon asked us to teach Hansel and Gretel about keeping their teeth healthy. We discussed the importance of brushing our teeth correctly and we practised brushing on so model teeth.

The Dragon was impressed with our learning about healthy eating so it left us some fruit to taste. We enjoyed tasting raspberries, blueberries, melon, mango and pomegranate. Everyone had a different favourite fruit.

We have been practising for our Fairyland Assembly next week and we can’t wait to share our learning with our adults.

We joined up with P2/1 for our outdoor learning session today.  We used the bikes and scooters in the muga and played on the pirate ship.  We explored the loose parts and played tennis and skipping.

Here are some of our personal learning highlights this week:

Guhan Kumar ‘I enjoyed tasting fruit’

Tiara ‘I loved making the healthy lunchbox’

Antos ‘I liked outdoor learning and playing on the scooters’

Felix ‘I loved riding the bike’

Franek ‘I liked the bikes and tasting the fruit’

Daniel ‘My favourite fruit was melon, it was so good’

Kaya ‘I liked the blue berries and the bike’

Congratulations to Antos who is our Hot Chocolate winner this week. Have a lovely weekend everyone and hope you all stay dry.
