Primary 6A Learning Highlights 30/5/25
Dear Parents and Carers,
Primary 6 have been working hard on their House Captain speeches. Some of the primary 7 captains came to our class and outlined what the role involved. They were really motivating and enthusiastic! They also gave us advice on what to include in our speeches!
On Ascension Thursday, some of our class attended mass at St Peters. Primary 6 learned why the day is so special and why it is important in the Catholic faith. Our class discussion was really interesting with lots of valuable contributions.
We have been designing tiles with pictures of wildlife for St John Ogilvie outdoor garden. Some of the designs look amazing!
We continued our peace and conflict topic. After a class discussion about the impact of current conflict in Ukraine, we created our own mind maps.
Our class novel still proves to be exciting and we are enjoying making predictions , discussing the meaning of difficult vocabulary and characters within the story.
Primary 6 continued to add detail to their peace and conflict posters which will be used for our class display!
During PE, we played rounders. Many of us did not know the rules so we had to learn them! It was great fun even on a windy day !!
In numeracy, we continued to learn more about equivalent fractions and some of us challenged ourselves with word problems.
Congratulations to Mason on being nominated for our hot chocolate award this week.
Have a super weekend !
