P3 Week Beginning 25th August 2025
Hello families of P3!
This week’s update is brought to you by The Ferrets:
Ellie enjoyed House groups activities today. The children separated into their different Houses and completed activities centred around the idea of ‘relationships’.
Eliza reports how she liked our Daily Mile each day. After break time, the children in P3 walk around the playground 4 times. This health initiative is to help foster a healthy lifestyle from a young age.
Izaan said the best part of his week has been learning about 2D shapes. New shapes we focused on were pentagons, hexagons and octagons. I gave the children little stories to help remember their names. Ask your child if they can remember these stories. Izaan thought the octagon was “really cool” as it had 8 sides like 8 legs of an octopus. We discovered that each of these shapes had the same number of sides as vertices (pointy parts).
Sofia loved continuing to learn about Creation. If your child wishes to rewatch the beautiful little video clip about this, click (or paste the link) here: Bible Story Series: Genesis The Creation of World
Matteo has continued to enjoy playing Benchball! Super co-operation P3!
Vihaan has loved our learning so far about the Vikings. He liked it when we looked at a real one in a museum in Oslo: The Collection – Museum of the Viking Age
Joseph’s highlight of the week was listening to our class novel, The Twits. His favourite part was when the boys escaped from being stuck to the branch of the big dead tree. They wiggled out of their trousers and ran away (Joseph was giggling at the pictures of their bums).
Tyler liked revising common words (reading and writing of them) from P2.
My highlight has been learning about the Viking longboats. It was fantastic for the children to visualise the length of an actual boat. The children have been eating up the facts about these boats and about the Viking burials. We discussed what we would be buried with if we had of been Vikings. The children said I would need to be buried with my laptop to be a teacher in the next life! I wonder if I would have had wifi!
Congratulations to Viaan, our hot chocolate award winner this week!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
