Primary 1A Weekly Learning Highlights 29th August 2025
What a wonderful week we have had in P1a.
In Literacy, we have been learning about Beginning, Middle and End. We have a little action we complete to show the beginning, middle or end. We listened to sounds and we had to recall where the sound was. We played guess the animal sound and again had to say where the animal was located. We have also been practising our names remembering to use a capital letter just at the beginning.
This week we have been learning about the blue zone of regulation and looked at the words sad and tired. We discussed what the words mean and strategies we could use if someone feels sad our tired, we drew a picture and our teacher scribed what we said about the picture.
We talked about the importance of families and created a beautiful piece of artwork showing our families.
This week we have been learning all about the numbers 2 and 3. We are all working very hard on the formation of the numbers. We also counted to 30 and backwards from 10. We played and under the sea game where we had to count the under water creatures and press the correct answer.
In PE, we have been practising finding our own space. We used our listening skills to play ‘Beans’. We looked at different coloured circles to show us how to move or stop. Green means go, amber means slow down, red means stop. We also played ‘Duck, Duck, Goose’.
We are getting very good at blessing ourselves before and after prayers and we are listening well and trying to join in with our prayers.
Today we got to meet in our House Groups and work together on a task. It was lovely meeting lots of new people from our school.
Here are some of our personal highlights this week:
Conall ‘I liked writing my name’
Willow ‘I liked writing the number 3’
Ini ‘I liked drawing my family’
Nathania ‘I liked playing outside’
Monika ‘I liked playing in the area’
Well done to Marley our Hot Chocolate winner this week. Marley works very hard and always tries his best. Congratulations to St Francis the winning house this week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
