P4B Learning Highlights - 12.9.25
Hello P4B families,
Thank you to everyone who attended our p4 assembly this morning and have spent the past few weeks hearing the pupils recite their words and song at home. A massive well done to all the pupils for doing a fabby job! They were very excited to showcase all their learning about Scottish inventors.
We had a very busy week practicing for our assembly but here are some other highlights:
In Literacy, we have been learning about the ‘Long I’ sound: we practiced reading, writing and creating words with this spelling pattern. We also looked at uplevelling our work by exploring different synonyms and used a thesaurus for the first time.
In Maths, we have been working on place value up to 1,000 and learning more about the properties of shapes.
For art, we used oil pastels to create beautiful sunset pictures with different silhouettes around the discussion of earlier sunsets on the approach to autumn. You may have seen these on our ‘WOW Work’ wall in the classroom.
Pupil Highlights:
Hameedah has really enjoyed practicing her ball skills in P.E.
Azmeer has spent his mornings this week doing the daily maths challenge.
Aarav has began his journey to crocheting and is mastering the skill very quickly!
Harald has enjoyed the mixture of the hands-on approach to maths using dienes during Building Thinking Classrooms to show visualisation of numbers.
Lillian has loved our desk pets because “we are learning about money and responsibility whilst having fun”
Huge congratulations to Aarav who was our hot chocolate winner this week. He has been very helpful and supportive to his friends and the classroom.
Have a great weekend everyone!
