This week in P1a
Another week of fabulous learning from P1A.
We continued our learning about our senses by focusing on smell. We had so much fun smelling different scents and trying to guess what they were. We listened to the story Pirate Pete and his Smelly Feet, discussing what happened at the beginning, in the middle and at the end, and sequenced pictures.
This story fitted in perfectly with our sound of the week āpā. We learned how to write p, thought of lots of words beginning with āpā and focused on our cutting skills to make crafts for pigs, penguins and peacocks. We loved becoming pirates in P.E and playing lots of games thinking about using space and moving different ways.
In maths we continued practising formation of numbers and different ways to make numbers. We also recapped our learning on 2D shape, making a fantastic shape monster before learning about 3D shapes. We investigated whether 3D shapes could roll, slide and stack and also used playdough and cocktail sticks to make our own 3D shapes.
A highlight for most this week was walking to the local park with our buddies for outdoor learning. It was lots of fun.
