Primary 1B Learning Highlights 24th April 2026
This week has been a very busy and exciting week!
We have been focussing on Earth Day this week and we have been thinking about the ways in which we can help the Earth. We sorted out pictures to show what is good or not good for the Earth and had some fantastic discussions. We then learned all about recycling and sorted items into the four different bins. We wrote a sentence about how we can help the Earth and the staff were so impressed with how independently we worked.
On Tuesday, we had our school trip to Almond Valley Heritage Centre. We had a fantastic day seeing all the animals and then playing in all the different parks. We especially enjoyed seeing all the baby animals. The staff were all very proud of us and how well we represented our school. A huge thank you to our family helpers who came along with us.
In Maths, we have been learning about capacity. We have been using the words full, empty, half full, nearly full and nearly empty.
We all agreed that our highlight of the week was going on our school trip.
Congratulations to Mikayla who is our Hot Chocolate winner. She ensured everyone had someone to play with during our trip. Well done to Ignacy who is our Reading Champion for this fortnight. He has shown confidence in reading in a group.
