Primary 1B Learning Highlights 11th September 2026

This week we have been learning all about the numbers 6 and 7. We enjoyed watching Numberblocks to meet the characters for these numbers. We used Rekenreks this week to show different numbers and tried to do this in only one push.

In Literacy, we have been learning all about the letter c. We made cats and we have a cupcake cafe role play area which has been very popular. We enjoyed sorting words by the sound at the beginning and we had to move around the classroom to show which sound was at the start. We wrote a sentence using ‘I can’ as this was our new common word and we had to remember a finger space and full stop.

We continued to learn about our 5 senses and this week we looked at our sense of hearing. We had to shake little cups and listen to the sound. We then had to match them to the correct picture. We also played a game on the smartboard when we had to listen to an animal sound and match the picture. Some of the sounds were very funny!

On Friday, we spent time with our P7 Buddies. We got to read some books together and we had a great time!
