Primary 1B Learning Highlights 25th September 2026

This week we have been learning all about the letter ‘p’. We have been making the letter shape using pink paper, finding lots of words beginning with ‘p’ and we loved hearing the story of Pirate Pete and his Smelly Feet.  We have set up a Pizza Shop in our role play area and we have loved creating pizzas for our friends.

On Wednesday, we used all our senses and made some popcorn. It was very exciting! We tasted three different types of popcorn and chose our favourite. We made a graph and we talked about how we knew which was the most or least popular. We also wrote a sentence using our common word ‘like’ to say which popcorn we liked best.

For maths, we have been learning about 2D shape. We made our own shape monsters. Miss Stebbing was very impressed with our creativity.

We had our first Outdoor Learning Session this week and we were out in the playground. We practised writing our numbers using chalk and enjoyed trying to get as many numbers as we could in the space. We also played a game using dominoes. We had to count or subitise the spots and then find the cone that matched. We then got to Choose Our Own Learning using the loose parts and the bikes and scooters. We are looking forward to going to the Woodland next week.
