Primary 1B Learning Highlights 2nd October 2026
This week we have been learning all about Fairtrade. We learned about why this is important, about the logo and what products are Fairtrade. As we were learning about our sense of taste we tasted some Fairtrade chocolate and made a graph of our favourite. White chocolate was the winner. We practised our counting and number recognition by counting pictures of Fairtrade products. We then coloured in a graph to show the different products chosen by someone.
In Literacy, we have been learning all about the letter ‘a’. We have been making and spelling words using our magnetic boards. We wrote a sentence using all our common words.
For Outdoor Learning we went up to the Woodland. We learned about the different areas of the Woodland and practised doing sticky boots so we could all come together in a circle. We had lots of fun looking at the fairy doors and making porridge in the mud kitchen.
On Friday, we got to do a special activity. It is called magic pumpkins. We had to use a torch to see which number was hiding behind the pumpkin. We then traced it on a special pumpkin sheet.
Here are some of our personal highlights from this week:
Fikayomi – I enjoyed playing with the wooden people.
Thomas – I enjoyed playing Potato Head.
Michael – I enjoyed learning about number 11.
Alan – I enjoyed doing the magic pumpkins.
Penelope – I enjoyed learning about my senses.
Well done to Ava who is our Hot Chocolate Winner this week. She always tries hard in her tasks, especially writing and follows our school rules, in particular keeping the classroom safe.
