Primary 1B Learning Highlights 9th October 2026
This week we have been learning all about the letter t and the common word and. We read the Tiger Who Came to Tea and we had to sequence the pictures to show beginning, middle and end. We wrote a sentence using all our common words and even used our sounds to spell two words. The staff were very impressed with us!
In maths, we have been learning all about the number 12. We also learned about 3D shapes and played a game where Miss Stebbing said the name of a shape and we had to race against a partner to find it.
We have started a new topic all about dinosaurs. We have made a poster about all the things wee know and all the things we would like to learn. We also sorted toys and discussed how we knew they were dinosaurs or not.
For Outdoor Learning, we were in the playground. We used magnetic letters to spell words on the green sheds and tried to write our letters in the MUGA. We then had some choosing our own learning time and a turn on the bikes and scooters.
In RE, we have been learning the Hail Mary. We have been watching a video which shows us the Hail Mary in sign language. We tried hard to copy the signs.
Here are some of our personal highlights from this week:
Cai – I enjoyed doing Dough Disco.
Rio – I enjoyed learning about the number 12.
Thomas – I enjoyed playing with the Magnatiles.
Ava – I enjoyed doing writing.
Penelope – I enjoyed writing my sentence.
Nevansh – I enjoyed learning outside.
Congratulations to Rio who is our Hot Chocolate Winner this week. He shows fantastic skills in maths and has been so kind to other people in our class. He always makes sure everyone is included in his play.
