P7a Weekly Highlights 6th November

This week we have had a great week with lots of learning. In literacy, our spelling focus was the ‘ph’ sound. We had reading comprehension based on sea turtles, we also had some core target writing time and learned about alliteration in our grammar.

In maths this week, our focus was on percentages, as well as a bit of coordinates and the 8 times table.

We finished our bat art and began our new topic on the rainforest, we watched a video, took notes and began to turn our notes into mind maps.

For outdoor learning we went to the woods and began to build dens. We are going to be doing these over the next 2-3 weeks.

Our Pope Francis Faith award pupils revisited all of their work from least year, we will be continuing this every week. The pupils not doing their award learned about Hinduism with Mrs Lea.

We were lucky enough to have some 1st and 6th years from St Margaret’s visit today and give us a presentation about high school, we heard all about timetables, houses and house groups, buddies and some rules about high school amongst many other things. Primary 7 asked lots of questions and learned about lots of things to do with moving on to high school.

Well done to our school football team who represented St John Ogilvie at a tournament today. We had excellent feedback about behaviour, setting a good example and representing our school well. Not to mention, they never got beat in a single game!

Well done to our hot chocolate winner and to all on a fantastic week.

Have a lovely and restful weekend.

Miss Duddy
