Primary 4B Learning Highlights

We have had a fantastic week of learning! The children have been working incredibly hard, showing amazing focus.

Literacy

In Literacy, our current focus is descriptive writing. We are learning how to effectively construct a piece of writing by using adjectives, verbs and nouns to describe an object.

Numeracy

We did two different things in math’s this week:

1. Column Addition: Learning how to line up our numbers and add them up in columns.

2. Measuring: Using rulers and tape measures to find the size of things using standard units like centimetres and metres.

IDL

We are learning about old castles and how they changed over time. This week, we looked at three types:

· Motte and Bailey: Quick wooden castles built on big earth mounds.

· Stone Keeps: Strong castles made from heavy stone.

· Tower Houses: Smaller stone castle houses built to keep people safe.

Technology

In Scratch, this week we learned how to change the costume of a sprite to make our characters change how they look on the screen.
