Primary 6A - WB 02.11.26
Dear Readers,
Welcome to our P6A weekly blog!
We have been very busy this week and here are a few of the highlights:
- Spelling words – we have learned about very important and common words that have irregular plurals and therefore need special attention!
- Spelling assessment – as usual, on a Friday we have our assessment to check how well we have learned our tricky words during the week. It’s important to remember that we have time to practise them everyday in order to become amazing spellers!
- Maths and Numeracy – We continued focussing on Multiplication of 1,2 and 3 digits by up to 1 million. To understand even better the link between multiplication and division, we have been practising our Multiplication and Division number families.
- LAC – REC – We have learned all about the meaning of Halloween and its connection with All Saints Day. It was particularly interesting finding out that the life of St Valentine was in the origin of Valentine’s Day and that St. Nicholas’ life was inspiration for our dear Santa! We were all astonished by that! We have also learned about the difference between All Saints Day and All Souls Day but some of us found it a bit confusing since we thought they are very much alike.
- LAC – EA – Since we have been reminded about all the things we should do to stay safe during Bonfire Night, we had to make our Fire Safety Posters to help others being aware of them as well.
- We have continued preparing our Assembly with P6B and have been auditioning for some of the most wanted parts! Unfortunately, because of the construction work in our school, we won’t be able to have Parents and Carers coming to see us, but we will still proudly present it to our peers from other classes and to all siblings within the school!
- Next week we will have the Sumdog West Lothian contest so hope you can all help our class to win! Good luck to all!
- All tables have been trying to get the weekly prize and we will let you know in our next post who won it!
- Many congratulations to Diana, our Hot Chocolate of the week! Well done for her excellent behaviour, kindness and learning skills! What an amazing example you are for your peers, Diana!
That’s all for now! We hope you have enjoyed finding out about our highlights and hope to have you back next week!
